
Exhibitions: The largest retrospective of the works of Marc Chagall presented in Milan
The exhibition “Marc Chagall. Una retrospettiva 1908-1985” / "Marc Chagall. The 1908-1985 Retrospective" is opened on September 17, 2014, at the Palazzo Reale (Milan, Italy). It became the largest, dedicated to Marc Chagall, exposition in Italy. It comprises the painting from the largest museums in the world and the works from private collections.
The exhibition consists of six chapters and presents more than 200 works that belong to the author’s creative periods in the beginning in Russia, during the first stay in France and later return to Russia, his expulsion from France, time he spent living in America, and finally returning to the French Riviera.
The State Russian Museum has offered a few pieces from its collection to the retrospective of the works of Marc Chagall.
