
Memory of the world: The large-scale Crimea Military-Historical Festival held in Sevastopol
In Sevastopol on the Fedyuhiny altitudes was ended the Crimea Military-Historical Festival, which attracted more than 600 re-enactors from different regions of the Russian Federation. At four sites, they presented the audience eight historical periods, in one way or another connected with the history and culture of the Crimea. The guest of honor of the festival was the Minister of Culture, chairman of the Russian military-historical society Vladimir Medinsky.
"The Crimean Military-Historical Festival - a new scale, and certainly an interesting and promising project - said at a press conference the head of the Ministry of Culture of Russia. - It is attractive because it is the first in the country for the duration: the festival lasts for a week. There is a new program every day. Antiquity, Ancient Russia, the Middle Ages, the Crimean War, the defense of Sevastopol during the Great Patriotic War. This is the most lively, interactive introduction to the natural history, especially for the younger generation. It's a time machine that takes you back in time, even with the smallest reliability of all the details. In addition, it is informative, educational and attractive tourist event, which is also important for the Crimea".
The festival hosted an international conference to discuss issues related to the development of military-historical reconstruction as an attractive tourist product, the formation of a single event calendar of the military-historical reconstruction of the Crimea, Russia and other countries, the improvement of information support activities of clubs re-enactors. The events of the festival were attended by representatives of the Ministries of Culture of Russia and the Crimea, the Russian military and historical societies, historians, archaeologists, experts and heads of historical reconstruction clubs, masters and Methodists.
September 13 at the Fedyuhiny altitudes was reconstructed scenes of the Great Patriotic War (the defense of Sevastopol in 1942 and the defense of Sevastopol in 1944).
