Russian museums: The Museum of History of Computers to be open in Volgograd
September 16, 2014 in the Volgograd Museum-Reserve "Old Sarepta" will be open the "Computer History Museum".
Previously, "Computer History Museum" was at a different address, but now it opens its doors at the Museum-Reserve "Old Sarepta." In Russia, it is the only museum devoted to the history of computers.
The idea of creating such a museum belongs to collector Edward Statcenko.
"The main idea of this collection is to tell the story of the development of computer technology, to show with what many modern gadgets began", - said the director of the museum Edward Statcenko.
A unique exhibition has more than three hundred exhibits of 70s, 80s and 90s of the last century. A large-scale collection was just four years. Visitors will see the first tablet weight of 2 kg, the first notebook, the first Soviet calculator, the world's first hard drive with a storage capacity of 10 MB or more.
