
Memorable dates of Russia: The exhibition of books to the 200th anniversary of M. Y. Lermontov in Stavropol
In the Lermontov Stavropol Regional Scientific Library in the framework of the "Day of the reader" was held a presentation of an exhibition of books "His every word - he himself…" dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Y. Lermontov (from the collection of the Russian State Library).
The exhibition was the result of the cooperation of the Regional Library and the RSL, and Stavropol became one of four cities in Russia, where Moscow colleagues planned traveling exhibitions devoted to the anniversary of the Great Russian poet.
The exhibition presents the lifetime and the first posthumous works of the poet, translations of his works into foreign languages, books about Lermontov. The list of rare documents continue originals music, poems and romances of the second half of the XIX - early XX century, showing the interpretation of Lermontov in music. Of particular interest are the materials of the Manuscript Division of the RSL, presented in the form of copies: the first autographs of the poet - "In the midnight sky…", "When the waves…", an excerpt from the poem "Valerik", drawn by Lermontov a pencil portrait of the unknown, the individual sheets from the case of a duel of N. S. Martynov with M. Y. Lermontov.
The logical complements to the exhibition were the documents from the Lermontov Stavropol Regional Scientific Library, isolated in a separate section: rare editions of the poet's works, studies of Stavropol Lermontov reserchers and etc.
A unique book exposition is of interest not only for literary scholars, teachers, librarians and other professionals, but also for a wide range of admirers of the poet. To get acquainted with the book exhibition will be possible to residents of Stavropol until 26 October this year.
