History of Russia: The exhibition, dedicated to the history of Russian Cossacks, in Stavropol

September 6, 2014 in the G. N. Prozritelev and G. K. Prave Stavropol State Historical-Cultural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve in the framework of the "Economic, social, spiritual and moral development of the Cossacks: the experience of the Stavropol Territory" took place the opening of the exhibition "The fate of Russian Cossacks in the XX century. To the 95th anniversary of the Cossacks policy".

The exposition of more than a hundred documents, photographs, maps and posters of hostilities of 1917-1920s from the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History is devoted to the most difficult period in the country's history, when during the fratricidal civil war a considerable part of Russian Cossacks was subjected to cruel repression.

Visitors of the exhibition will learn about unique documents from the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History, including collecitons of the Politburo of the CPSU (b), Donburo RCP (b), the personal collections of Lenin, Stalin, and other senior representatives of Soviet state, tells about the formation and implementation of the policy of the Soviet state in relation to the Cossacks, "red terror" against the Cossacks and the resistance to it, the participation of the Cossacks in the Civil War on both sides. Most of these documents are shown to the public for the first time.

The exhibition will run until September 30.
