Russian museums: The Museum of the Dostoevsky novel “The Brothers Karamazov” to be created in Staraya Russa
The Museum of the novel of the classic of Russian literature Fyodor Dostoevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov" will be created in the Novgorod region, in Staraya Russa, where he wrote many chapters of this world-famous work.
"It is expected that the museum will be housed in a two-story urban scientific and cultural center. This building is an architectural monument. By the way, the mansion was built in the first half of the XIX century. So, it seemed to see the classic walking around Staraya Russa", - said the representative of the Novgorod State Museum (NSM). He noted that the NSM has recently completed the restoration of the building and is ready to work on the creation of exposition.
The concept of this exhibition is developed by workers of the Dostoevsky Staraya Russa House Museum. It is assumed that the rooms of the building will be dedicated to the heroes of the novel. They will house the exhibits of the Dostoevsky House-Museum.
With the introduction of the new museum it will be appeared the first comprehensive tourist "route of Dostoevsky" in Staraya Russa.
Staraya Russa is called by scholars of Dostoevsky the "city of the brothers Karamazov" because this is the place where the classic wrote many chapters of the world-famous novel. The city includes the plaques on the houses where prototypes of the characters of "The Brothers Karamazov" lived. These boards are now "guide" in the city, which also existed in reality and created by the writer.
On the anniversary of the first arrival of F. Dostoevsky in Staraya Russa (18 May 1872) here are held about 30 years of international readings of Dostoevsky. Since 1992, on the birthday of Fyodor Dostoevsky (November 11, 1821) on the ground of Staraya Russa are held international festivals of chamber performances from his works. In one of the city's squares is a monument to the classic work of the People's Artist of Russia Vyacheslav Klykov. Staraya Russa students study creativity of F. Dostoevsky in particular, profound program.
