International events: The plan of modernization of Russian Centers of Science and Culture abroad approved

The Government of Russia has approved a plan for optimization and modernization of Russian Centers of Science and Culture in foreign states for 2014-1016. The plan is developed by Rossotrudnichestvo together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Rossotrudnichestvo operates in 81 countries of the world through the system of representative offices abroad, which includes 60 RCSC, 14 departments and 21 representative offices as part of diplomatic missions. Geographically Rossotrudnichestvo covers territory of the USA up to Japan and Finland and Argentina.

“The execution of activities will contribute to the improvement of infrastructure of Russian Centers of Science and Culture abroad, the optimization of the use of resource and personnel potential of Rossotrudnichestvo, the development of Russian cultural and humanitarian presence abroad”, - says the reference to the document.

The plan consists of 10 items, including the organization of concerts, theater and exhibition projects on the basis of the RCSC, the development of the schedule of upgrading the infrastructure of the RCSC, and the formation of library collections.

The financing will be implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo, and the control – by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the report to the government will be provided by the agency semiannually.
