International events: Heads of military agencies of Russia and Slovakia opened the exhibition “Victory”

The Minister of Defense of Russia and Slovakia Sergei Shoigu and Martin Glvach opened on August 29, 2014 at the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising (Banska Bystrica, Slovakia) an exhibition "Victory", organized with the participation of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition "Victory" is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising, and its leading theme - Soviet Union's contribution to the victory over Nazism. The main focus of the Russian exposition is aimed at the demonstration of April 16, 1945 the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation of Soviet troops.

Objective basis for the exhibition are museum exhibits of Russian museum collections. They include uniforms, equipment, items of military and civilian life, leaflets in Russian and German languages​​, posters, cards, and personal items of outstanding Soviet generals - Georgy Zhukov, Ivan Konev, Konstantin Rokossovsky, Rodion Malinovsky.

Among the exhibits are unique trophies of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of Russia: charred jacket of Adolf Hitler's Globe, where in brown are marked countries, according to Hitler, which had to become part of Germany.

After the end of the celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War, these exhibits will return to Moscow.

Sergei Shoigu, speaking at the opening ceremony, said that Russia is well aware of the heroism and courage of the Slovak people, who in 1944 was able to resist the Nazi occupiers. "Together with the Slovaks - Russian, Czech, Polish, French, Hungarian, German anti-fascists, Jews, Gypsies and other nationalities fought", - said the Minister.
