The "Return to Eden" exhibition from the collection of Moscow Museum of Russian Impressionism opens on October 29, 2014, in Ivanovo Art Museum. The exhibition runs until the 23rd of November.

A year before its official opening Moscow Museum of Russian Impressionism launches a regional program of exhibitions, and the first one opens in the city of Ivanovo. Now the museum is under construction on the territory of former "Bolshevik" candy factory. The Museum of Russian Impressionism site’s design project belongs to John McAslan & Partners Architectural Bureau from England.

Ivanovo viewers will see works by Konstantin Korovin, Valentin Serov, Stanislav Zhukovsky, Igor Grabar and other masters of the XIX-XX centuries. Among the stars of the Soviet period section of the exhibition are Yuri Pimenov, Pyotr Konchalovsky, the social realism guru Alexander Gerasimov, and Dmitry Nalbandian. The chronological framework of the exhibition extended to the beginning of the XXI century: the paintings of Valery Koshlyakov and local Ivanovo resident Vladimir Rogozin are completing the exposition.

Building of museum’s collection already lasts for more than ten years. It is significant to note that a large part of the works was purchased in Europe and due to the efforts of philanthropist Boris Mints. After Ivanovo the exhibition of the Museum of Russian Impressionism will travel across Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Orenburg, St. Petersburg and other cities.
