Memory of Russia: Memorial complex to warriors, killed during the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, opens in the Ryazan region

October 25, 2014 in the village of Paniki of the Ryazan region is held the opening ceremony of the memorial to soldiers killed during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Russian Military-Historical Society, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

The sculptural composition, established by the Russian Military-Historical Society in the village of Paniki, became the first project of RVIO to restore and establish uniform Monument on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War in preparation for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The sculpture consists of the Eternal Flame and the figure of a soldier, with located at the edges of stele. On plates are immortalized the names of soldiers who died there. The obelisk was constructed by sculptor Vitally Shanov.
