Libraries and society: The annual meeting of directors of federal and regional libraries in Moscow

The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation together with the Russian State Library (Moscow) and the National Library of Russia (Saint-Petersburg) host on October 21-22, 2014 on the platform of the RSL an Annual meeting of directors of federal and regional libraries. The theme 2014: “The Year of Culture: information and educational role of libraries”. 

As part of the Meeting will be discussed the following issues:

- The educational role of libraries. Problems and solutions.

- The contribution of libraries in the preservation of traditional values, the answer to the challenges of today.

- Local function of regional libraries at the present stage.

- Libraries to encourage an interest to reading among the youth.

- New services of libraries taking into account perspective information and communication technology.
