World history: The exhibition “The First World War. 1914-1918” in Gdansk

The opening of the exposition “The First World War. 1914-1918” took place in the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gdansk (Poland). The photo documentary exhibition is dedicated to the memory of participants and victims of one of the most large-scale military conflicts in the history of a mankind. The organizers of the exhibition projects are the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Gdansk Library and the Russian Center for Science and Culture with the support of the Kashubian Institute, the Association of cooperation “Poland-East” and the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum, which presented a collection of unique photographic documents at the exhibition. These are the materials from the collection of Kaliningrad Historical and Art Museum, the Military-Historical Museum of Artilelry, Engineer and Signal Corps (Saint-Petersburg), the National historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus (Minsk), which allow seeing the front-line days of Russia soldiers and officers by the eyewitnesses, as well as the war “inside” and fell its tragedy, which claimed millions if lies.

The exhibition at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gdansk runs until November 11, 2014.
