Libraries and society: The II International Bibliography Congress to be held in Moscow in October 2015
The II International Bibliography Congress under the motto “Bibliography: The Look into the Future” will be held on October 6-9, 2015 in the Russian state Library (Moscow).
Two plenary sessions and six breakout sessions in the following areas will be held:
1. Common problems of bibliogrpahy science and practice:
- The role of research in the development of bibliography;
- Job of bibliographer in the XXI century. Training and continuing the education of specialists;
- Bibliography and Web environment
2. Bibliographic record as a basis of bibliographic resources.
- Modern technology and principles of bibliographic description of the resource and the formation of the access points;
- Formats and authority control of bibliographic data;
- Semantic means of bibliographic access.
3. Universal bibliographic resources.
- National Bibliography: international cooperation, the experience of Russia and other countries;
- Bibliographical account of local (regional) documents;
- Organization and management of library catalogs and corporate universal bibliographic resources (union catalogs, databases).
4. Information and bibliographical support for science, technology, education and culture.
- Bibliographic resources in science, technology, education and culture: the formation and state;
- Information and bibliographic support of scientists and specialists;
- Information and bibliographical support of education;
5. Bibliographic software of free development of personality
- Self-education, reading, and bibliography;
- Bibliography leisure activities;
- Bibliography for children and youth.
6. Information and bibliographical service and professional training.
- Bibliographic search and organization of reference services;
- References in the mass-outreach libraries;
- Bibliographic knowledge and skills in the formation of information culture of users.
