
History of Russia: The exhibition “Paul Ryzhenko. Empire in the Last War” in Moscow
October 14, 2014 at the exhibition hall of the Russian Military-Historical Society in Moscow is opened the exhibition “Paul Ryzhenko. Empire in the Last War”.
The exhibition is organized by the Russian Military-Historical Society, the Pavel Ryzhenko Foundation, the State Museum and Exhibition Center “ROSIZO” with the support of the State Archive of the Russian Federation.
The exposition consists of large-scale realistic canvases, which reflect the fate of the imperial family and the life of the Russian people in 1914-1918. Historical events on their canvases were treated by master as a landmark event that granted them the fullness of historical generalizations.
Semantic core of this exhibition is the painting "The photo on the memory", central in the triptych "The Russian Century", which presents the main actors of the passing epoch - the emperor and his family, the clergy and the military, united tragic fate. A special place in the exposition is occupied by triptychs "Repentance" and "Imperial Golgotha" in which patriotic philosophy of the artist reveals most clearly.
The exhibition will run until November 16, 2104.
