Information technology and society: The Forum “Information society – 2014: Achievements and Trends” in Chelyabinsk

October 9-10, 2014 in Chelyabinsk is held the fourth annual Forum "Information Society - 2014: Achievements and Trends".

The event organizers are the Government of the Chelyabinsk region together with the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of the Chelyabinsk region.

The purpose of the event - the creation of an effective platform for the exchange of experiences of formation and development of the information society in the Russian Federation, aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens, ensuring competitiveness of the regions, the development of economic, socio-political, cultural and spiritual spheres of life, improvement of public administration on the basis of use of information and telecommunication technologies.

Objectives of the Forum:

- To involve the population of regions to information technology, to achieve a new quality of life through the development and use of services, information and communication technologies, including in education, health care, social protection of the population;

- The promotion of development projects of the Information society among the population, including in the provision of public and municipal services to people and businesses;

- The formation of modern information and telecommunication infrastructure, providing the basis for its high quality services and high availability to the public of information and technology to solve the digital divide territories.
