International events: The photo project of the Association of cities-heirs of Byzantium “Byzantine routes” in Veliky Novgorod

In the center of culture, arts and community initiatives "Dialog" (Veliky Novgorod) was inaugurated a photo project of the Association of cities-heirs of Byzantium (ACEB) "Byzantine routes", which continues the series of photo exhibitions "Cities - the heirs of Byzantium". Holding photo exhibitions in the cities of the Association has become a tradition, and for the last year similar events took place in the cities of Italy - in Sabbioneta, Montone, Cefalu, Rossano and Rome. In early September, "Byzantine routes" in the pictures were presented in the Tula region.

The project demonstrates the common routes of different branches of European civilization, showing the cultural affinity of Italy and Russia, based on common history and culture of Byzantine Empire.

Each route conceptually integrates the event of Byzantine period of history or historical figure. The exhibition features author’s photographs and photographs produced by the Association of the album “Cities – the heirs of Byzantine”, showing all the beauty of architecture and painting of the legacy of the great Byzantine Empire, preserved in many Italian cities.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until October 15, 2014.
