Memory of Russia: The exhibition “Orenburg citizens on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War” in Moscow

November 26, 2014 in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War is held the solemn opening of the thematic exhibition “Orenburg residents on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War”.

The exhibition is organized together with the Ministry of Culture and External Relations of the Orenburg region, the Orenburg Governor’s History Museums, with the support of the Orenburg Department of the Russian Military-Historical Society.

The exhibition is based on rich archival material clearly and comprehensively reveals the contribution of logistics in the region to Victory, tells of the exploits of its inhabitants in the rear and on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. The basis of the exhibition comprises of more than two hundred authentic artifacts from the collections of the Orenburg governor's History Museum: combat and labor Red banners, product samples of industrial enterprises and agriculture supplied to the front and to the cities of the Soviet Union, newspapers, film and photo, front letters, diaries, tools and household items. Visitors of the museum will see the famous Orenburg shawl, and the exhibition will also feature weapons and military uniforms of the opposing sides, Orenburg personal belongings from the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

An undoubted interest is personal things of twice Hero of the Soviet Union General A. I. Rodimtsev and authentic autograph of the Tatar hero-poet M. M. Jalil – natives of the Sharlyk district of the Orenburg region.
