President of Russia: Vladimir Putin participated in the opening ceremony of the monument to Alexander I

November 20, the opening ceremony of the monument to Emperor Alexander I was attended by the President of Russia and the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. The opening ceremony took place near Borovitsky gates of the Moscow Kremlin, in the Alexander Garden.

The author of the monument is the famous sculptor, People’s Artists of Russia Salavat Scherbakov. He won the competition in the contest of projects, in which took part other five famous artists. The circle of participants of the selection was formed based on the fact that they all in one form or another worked over the image of Alexander I.
