Russian museums: The International Scientific-Practical Conference “Museums – Reserves – Museums of the Future” in Yelabuga

November 18-22, 2014 announced by the President of Russia V. V. Putin the Year of Culture in the Russian Federation, in Yelabuga of the Republic of Tatarstan is held the International Scientific-Practical conference “Museums-Reservs – Museum of the Future”, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the republic of Tatarstan, the research group “Russian Museum Encyclopedia” and the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve with the assistance of ICOM Russia.

This conference is designed to become the first in Russia and the CIS countries in a similar format. There was no a precedent until now, when on the territory of one of the most famous Russian museums-reserves were collected representatives of the most diverse museums-reserves of Russia and abroad. The conference considers current issues of the functioning and development of museums-reserves at a modern stage, to exchange experience with many colleagues of Russia and abroad.

The format of the conference contains the participation in addition to scientists from Russia, specially invited speakers from Germany, Italy, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan for speaking at plenary session and round tables, and accompanying exchanges of discussions.
