Society and culture: The III Saint-Petersburg International Cultural Forum to be held in Saint-Petersburg in December 2014

The III St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum will be held in St. Petersburg from 7 to 9 December 2014. This year it will be dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the Hermitage and will sum up the results of the Year of Culture.

November 14, 2014 in the Small Hall of the Mariinsky Palace took place a press conference after a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the III St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.

Opening the conference, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia O. Y. Golodets stressed that unlike this forum from previous is that it is already widely known in the country and the world. This is evidenced by the number of participants - more than 2 million people. Executives of leading theaters, museums, conservatories have confirmed their participation in the forum.

Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia E. B. Milovzorov emphasized that the forum is international, and today its participation in it is confirmed by 20 ministers of culture in foreign countries. The guests of the forum will be the leading European masters of theatrical, choreographic art that will give master classes. The result of the business program of the Forum will be the signing of several memoranda and agreements with foreign states on mutual cooperation.

"St. Petersburg is the recognized world cultural center. And international cultural forum is the most interesting and popular platform for discussing these ideas", - said the Governor of St. Petersburg G. S. Poltavchenko.

The Forum will host 15 sections: "Cultural Policy", "Theatre", "Music", "Museums and Local History", "Language and Literature", "Libraries", "Cinema", "Circus", "Traditional culture and folk art", "Dance", "Fine Arts", including 4 new sections: "Science", "Philosophy of Culture", "Culture Media", "Preservation and promotion of cultural and historical monuments".
