Memory of Russia: The monument to Nicholas II opened in Belgrade

November 15, 2014 in Belgrade (Republic of Serbia) Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and chairman of the Russian Military-Historical Society, the Minister of Culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky take part in the opening ceremony of the monument to Emperor Nicholas II, canonized Russian Orthodox Church.

The monument is a bronze figure of Nicholas II in military uniform, strong and ready to support the brotherly people in the First World War. The height of the pedestal - about 3.5 meters, height of bronze figures - 4.5 meters. On both sides of the pedestal is placed the text of the telegram of Nicholas II to King of Serbia Aleksandar Karadjordjevic on Russian and Serbian: "…All of my efforts will be made to comply with the dignity of Serbia… No way Russia will not remain indifferent to the fate of Serbia" and the inscription "Monument erected by the Russian military and historical society to the centenary of the outbreak of the First world War. "Sculptors - People's Artist of the Russian Federation Andrei Kovalchuk and Gennady Pravotorov.

The sculpture "Monument to the Russian tsar - the defender of the Serbian people" is established by the Russian Military-Historical Society with the support of the historical perspective and the City Hall in the center of Belgrade, capital of Serbia, the former site of the Embassy of the Russian Empire, the Kingdom of Serbia.
