
Book publishing and book distribution: The project “Read Russia” presented at the Vienna International Book Fair Buch Wien
From 12 to 16 November 2014 is held the International Book Fair Buch Wien, which will submit the project “Read Russia”.
The project “Read Russia” is part of the state program of promotion of Russian literature and book publishing abroad. The project has already been presented at major book fairs of the world: in Frankfurt, London, New York, Barcelona, Madrid, Warsaw and others.
The annual International Book Fair Buch Wien is a big event in the cultural life of Europe. Russia takes part in the exhibition for the second time - the first visit took place in 2012. Buch Wien is designed not only for professional communications between publishers, writers, agents, librarians, booksellers, editors, translators, writers, illustrators, and other book industry professionals, but for all book lovers. The exhibition was preceded and accompanied by the festival of reading Lesefestwoche, which takes place from 10 to 16 November.
At the Russian stand of the Buch Wien will be presented an extensive exposition of the novelties of modern Russian literature. A particular attention is paid to children's book publishing. Participants and visitors of the fair will be able to see the products of famous Russian publishers. At the end of the exhibition, all the books will be donated to the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Vienna.
The program of participation in Buch Wien includes creative meetings with Russian writers and readers of the book industry representatives of Austria, the presentation of major Russian institutions that promote the advancement and promotion of Russian literature abroad. Events will take place not only in the venue, but also in leading Austrian universities, book stores and salons of Vienna, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture.
