Libraries and society: The VII Siberian Library Forum in Kemerovo

From 10 to 14 November 2014 in the V. D. Feodorov Kemerovo Regional Scientific Library is held the VII Siberian library forum dedicated to the Year of Culture in Russia and the Year of Culture and Tourism in Kuzbass.

In 2014, the main event in the library community of Kuzbass attracted more than 150 leading librarians and cultural figures of the republics, territories and regions of Siberia and the European part of Russia.

The Forum will host the All-Russian scientific-practical conference "Library funds: problems and solutions", at which will be discussed a number of issues: legal regulation of the formation of library funds, acquisition and use of electronic resources and others. It will be about the National Digital Library, the experience will be shared by the subjects of Russia, Siberia and the Kemerovo region. 

Participants of the forum, as well as Kemerovo residents and guests on November 12-13 will be able to visit the exhibition of bookselling, publishing and library products and services.

Also within the framework of the Forum it will be awarded the winners of the interdepartmental professional contest "Kniginia-2014". The contest is held annually and aims to support and develop creative work of librarians, the introduction of new technologies in the process of organizing service to readers, the growth of professional skills of librarians. 

The Siberian Library Forum - an important event in the cultural life not only of the Siberian region, but the entire library community in Russia, it draws attention to the problems of the development of library branch, it is a powerful factor in the flow of new creative forces.
