Society and church: The exhibition “Orthodox Tula” timed to the 215th anniversary of the Tula Diocese opened

The Museum "Tula samovars" hosts the exhibition "Orthodox Tula". The exhibition marks the 215th anniversary of the Diocese of Tula and is devoted to Orthodox history the city of Tula. The museum "Tula samovars" offer visitors the architecture of Orthodox churches (in photos), images of icons and various church paraphernalia. Exhibits presented at the exhibition emphasize the identity of the Orthodox culture.

The exhibition features items from the collections of the Tula museum association (church attributes and pre-revolutionary postcards from churches of the city), as well as objects from the collection of Tula Seminary. The exhibition is complemented with photographs of temples, familiar to generations of residents of the city: the church of St. John Zlatoust, belonging to the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old Believers' Church, and the Church of the Annunciation. The guests will learn the history of these temples and buildings which have passed through periods of neglect, and through the years of misuse, while preserving its unique architectural appearance.
