Russian culture: The VIII Assembly of Russian World held in Sochi

From 3 to 4 November 2014 the Russkiy Mir Foundation held the VIII Assembly of the Russian world, traditionally dedicated to the celebration of the National Unity Day. This year it was held in Sochi.

The agenda of the Assembly were panel discussions and round tables to discuss topical issues of the Russian world: political culture in a changing world order, the culture of speech and language of Russian culture in the XXI century and the role of the Russian-speaking communities abroad in the process of consolidation and integration of the entire Russian world.

The Assembly was attended by more than 700 Russian and foreign representatives of the Russian world - the teachers of Russian language and literature, reputable scientists and cultural figures, prominent politicians, heads of associations of compatriots and youth organizations, journalists, experts, diplomats, clergy.

The Russkiy Mir Foundation holds the Assembly since 2007. The Assembly of the Russian world - a large-scale international forum aimed at bringing together Russian compatriots abroad, coordinating efforts to support and promote the Russian language, culture, history and philosophy of the Russian world.
