International events: Five Russian stands at the exhibition on restoration and protection of monuments in Leipzig

The European specialized exhibition on restoration and protection of monuments Denkmal is held under the patronage of UNESCO on November 6-8, 2014 in Germany, in Leipzig.

In 2014, the exhibition Denkmal involves 434 exhibitors from 17 countries. It is the largest profile restoration exhibition. The Russian delegation has 130 people and is traditionally one of the most numerous in the exhibition.

The exhibition features stands of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Government of Moscow, the united stand of Saint-Petersburg as well as the Museum-Reserve “Kizhi” and the Voronezh restoration workshop “Savros”.

“For our country it is honorable and important, especially in 2014, which is declared the Year of Russia in culture. The exhibition in Leipzig is an excellent platform for the promotion and preservation of cultural heritage of Russia. The participation in it helps to improve Russia's image in the international arena, as well as the development of the Russian school of restoration”, - said Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia Grigory Pirumov in his welcome speech to the guests of the stand.

The exhibition will last for three days and will run on November 8 by the ceremony of awarding gold medals.
