World history: The exhibition “The First World War through the eyes of Captain G. A. Sigson” in Rybinsk
“The First World War through the eyes of Captain G. A. Sigson” – is the exhibition from the collection of the Rybisk Museum-Reserve (the Yaroslavl region), timed to the First World War Centenary.
The purpose of the project: the promotion and the actualization of knowledge about the First World War, its significance in the history of the XX century, the story of the battle way of Grochowski 182 Regiment. The regiment had its own a photographer - Sigson George Andreevich, born in Rybinsk, who documented the events of the war. His photographs were the basis of the exhibition.
Most of pictures were made by stereo photo camera. Several images through special glasses were seen in stereo mode.
The exposition features photographs, documents and graphics, dedicated to various events of war, regimental relics (banner, badges, awards, weapons), postcards of the First World War period.
