History and culture: "A Temple in your Home" Exhibition of icons in Irkutsk

"A Temple in your Home" exhibition of icons opened in museum studio of Irkutsk Regional Museum on November 1, 2014. The exhibition is timed to the Day of the icon Our Lady of Kazan.

For the first time the exhibition will feature the homemade icons belonging to Siberians from a period of XVIII-XX centuries. Among them, the most revered and beloved images of Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin, the little-known today nominal icons, the icon settings made of precious metals and household iconostasis’ utensils from the funds of the Irkutsk Regional Museum.
