The Museum-Reserve "Tsarskoye Selo" was donated a collection of photo greeting of the XIX - early XX century. This collection includes 141 photo greeting cards, including images of the family of Emperor Nicholas II, the representatives of the Prussian and Danish royal families, politicians of Europe. Many of them are practically unique and not found in Russia.

The collection was donated to the Club by Friends of the Museum-Reserve "Tsarskoye Selo" Sybil and Berndt Kreft from Dresden.

These cards depict Emperor Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna, Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Anastasia, the Tsarevich Alexei, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, German designer of airship Graf Zeppelin, President Roosevelt and other historic personalities.

Helen Emily Kramer was born in 1893 in Moscow, where at that time her parents lived and worked. In Germany, the family returned in 1906 or 1907. Young Helen Amelia began to collect cards in Moscow and continued this hobby at home.

- Of course, for us, the most valuable are images of representatives of the Romanov dynasty and crowned European relatives. The collection of our museum is extensive, but incomplete. Until recently, it was about two hundred cards that were part of several series, which represented the family of Nicholas II, the Prussian Imperial House, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna after her marriage, and others. Now we have a big part of the series of photo greeting cards. We hope that someday we will be able to recreate them in their entirety, - says the custodian of the "Fotonegateka, Cards" Victoria Plaude.
