Society and book culture: The Museum of Book Culture opened in the National Library of the Republic of Komi

December 23, 2014 the National Library of the Republic of Komi hosts the solemn opening of the Museum of Book Culture of the Republic of Komi.

In the history of the main library of the region its funds collected many rare books. The pearl of the National Library of the Republic of Komi is considered to be a rare fund, which holds the unique monuments of printing. The library, received the status of a regional center for dealing with book monuments, in 2013, began working on the creation of a complex on the history of literary culture of the region. At present, the Museum is a permanent exhibition hall to showcase permanent and temporary exhibitions.

The exposition hall presented guests unique library rare books - printing sites (manuscripts, church books, magazines and newspapers of the XIX century, the "Gospel" in the Komi language, "The Complete Works of M. Lomonosov), which became a visual embodiment of the history of literary culture.

The tour work of the Museum of Book Culture will be aimed at attracting the attention of the visitor to the traditional book reading culture, the formation and promotion of local literary traditions.
