History of culture: The exhibition “Old-Russian fresco in the mirror of time” in Pskov

In the exhibition hall of the Pskov Museum-Reserve is opened the exhibition "Old fresco in the mirror of time".

The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Antonina Feodorovna Vasilyeva (1933-2014), director of the museum in the 70s of the XX century.

The exhibition's title was not only determined by its structure - copies of ancient frescoes, but also a series of events related to the history of copy of Pskov monuments by teachers and students of the I. E. Repin Russian Academy of Arts in Saint-Petersburg. It was here since the early 70s of the XX century when began a systematic copying of ancient monuments of Pskov, which was performed by teachers and students of the studio of monumental painting by A. A. Mylnikova.
