Society and reading: The electronic database “Reading and library audience: library and sociological research”

The Center of reading of the National Library of Russia and the department of Sociology, Psychology and Pedagogy of Children’s reading of the State Children’s Library with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia started a new project – the creation of electronic database “Reading and library audience: library and sociological research”.

The purpose of the project - the creation and development of electronic resources, including a permanent collection of information on research, conducted as libraries of the country, and conducted with the participation of libraries for the study of reading, behavior and needs of visitors of libraries, the service of different target audiences of libraries. The project is interdisciplinary and holds "at the turn" of Library Science and Sociology. 

The electronic resource is designed for governing bodies, administrators, libraries, the libraries, engaging in research, sociologists of reading, sociology of culture, teachers and students of educational institutions in the field of culture, humanities scholars. The access to full-text database is available to registered users.
