History and culture: The exhibition, dedicated to the history of New Year celebration in Russia, takes place in Saint-Petersburg

The State Museum of Urban Sculpture in Saint-Petersburg hosts an interactive family exhibition, dedicated to the history of celebration of New Year in Russia.

The exhibition opened in the New hall of the museum and will run until January 21. The exposition features a variety of paintings and graphic art, prints, installation and video.

“Visitors will be traveling in time and images, will learn about Peter decree 1699, public trees of the XIX – early XX century and tress of the Soviet period as well as folklore, literary, painting and thatre origins of Father Frost and Snow Maiden, - say a press-release of the museum.

An interactive game area will run this time for parents and their children.
