The state and society: The largest flag of Russia to be deployed in the North Pole presented in the Public Chamber

On the Day of the Constitution in the Public Chamber of Russia took place the solemn presentation of the project “The Arctic – 2015” and the project “The parade of flags of Russian regions”, timed to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The projects are implemented together with the Russian Geographical Society with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Natural resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, as well as the Public Chamber Commission on Culture, Art, creative and cultural-historical heritage.

As part of the project “The Arctic – 2015” in April 2015 will be held the First Polar Expedition “Live Planet”, the main socio-patriotic and peacekeeping mission will be the deploying on the North Pole of our country – of a ice station “Barneo” - the largest flag of Russia of the area 1052 square meters and 85 flags of Russian regions (each 3×4 m, an area of 12 square meters).

As part of the project will be held a laying of the “Alley of Russia” on Poklonnaya Hill in honor of the outstanding Russian researchers of the Arctic and Antarctic.

In addition to the North Pole the largest flag will be deployed on the highest flagpole on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.
