
World history: The exhibition “On both sides of the front” dedicated to changes in monetary system during the First World War in Astrakhan
The Astrakhan Regional Museum hosts an exhibition "On both sides of the front". The exposition is devoted to the processes of changes of the monetary system in the countries of the Entente and the Triple Alliance during the First World War. Wooden money, stamps as payment documents, tickets, Federal Reserve System, bonds, coins – is presented about 300 items from the personal collection of the researcher, ethnographer, publicist Leonid Getmantsev. Its formation was taking place for 20 years.
The exhibition "On both sides of the front" – is a story about the changes that have occurred in the financial systems of the 15 countries participating in the Great War, including the United Kingdom, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Belgium, the French Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland other states.
The exposition includes awards, documents, photographs, stamps and postcards of 1914-1918.
The exhibition is opened for visitors until January 15, 2015.
