World history and culture: Interactive exhibition project “Samurais. 47 Ronin” in Saint-Petersburg

6 December 2014

December 6, 2014 at the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) opens an interactive exhibition project "Samurais. 47 Ronin".

More than a thousand rare exhibits from private collections assembled by curators from around the world have become available to the general audience. New artifacts have never been exhibited in museums and galleries, and the best hits of the previous exhibition "Samurai. Art of War" will take visitors in the era of Japanese renaissance and tell one of its most incredible legends - a story of vengeance and valor and deceit and devotion - the story of 47 Ronin.

Having considered the smallest details of the incredible armor of samurai, learning the secrets of the legendary production of Catan, delving into the mysteries of medieval painting and learning traditions of geisha costume, the audience will take a world of ancient Japan. Over an area of more than a thousand square meters arises Edo, just so called medieval Tokyo.

The exhibition will run from December 6, 2014 until January 30, 2105.
