Anniversaries of Russia: Dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky scientific conference in Moscow

The Russian State Library and the Section of Music Libraries of Russian Library Association announced having on the 30th of March 2015 the Scientific Conference dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The professional musicians, music schools, students, teachers, the representatives of the museums, archives and librarians, bibliographers, publishers and music lovers will attend the event.

The following questions will be discussed:

- a preservation of the heritage of the composer in libraries, archives and museums;

- a preparation of new editions and bibliographic indexes;

- a creation of electronic collections and so on.

Within a framework of the conference a full-scale exhibition titled "P. Tchaikovsky in the Collections of the Russian State Library" will be held, presenting a lifetime visual materials and cartographic documents; lifetime editions of works by the composer; the most important and interesting sources of XX-XXI centuries, among which are the dissertational research of the life and the work of the composer, the newspapers, audio-visual materials, monographs, posters and others.
