
Information technology and culture: Passports of cultural heritage objects of the Moscow region digitized
More than four thousand passports of cultural heritage objects of the Moscow region is transferred into electronic form by “Electronic Archive” Corporation. The project was implemented within the framework of the state program of the Moscow region "Effective authority" for 2014-2018 years.
According to Ilya Rodin, deputy head of the department of the use of cultural heritage objects of the Ministry of Culture of the Moscow region, electronic copies of passports will be used primarily to meet the challenges of public accounting and supervision, training sets of archival documents, as well as in the development of scientific and project documentation for the conservation of cultural heritage objects.
Passport of the cultural heritage object is a set of documents of different formats and sizes, which include the main sheet, information cards, inserts, photographs, plans, measured drawings etc. Passports are designed in 1960-1980 and many documents are in poor condition. To digitize the originals were used professional equipment brand “ELAR” allowing carefully scan and process the received electronic images. After digitizing all the sheets and application of passports of cultural heritage objects were collected in the pdf-files and loaded into the information system "window-MOSCOW". Customer also received electronic copies of passports to a DVD-ROM.
Currently, the entire volume of passports of cultural heritage objects of the Moscow region is digitized, available in the documentary fund of the Ministry of Culture of the region.
