Museums and society: The program “Museum guide” launched

The charitable fund of V. Potanin with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation launched a program “Museum guide”, designed to present a wide audience all the museum diversity of our country, to make the amazing museum common heritage, wherever they are, to reveal museum potential of the territory, where we live. 

The program “Museum guide” – is a regular large-scale project in the framework of the renewed museum strategy. It is aimed at the promotion of museums, the increase of their role as centers of education and public attraction, the development of new forms of presentation of museum collections.

The main instrument in the achievement of program targets of “Museum guide” is a self-titled grant contest, which welcomes all categories of museums of Russia except museums of federal and commercial museum organizations.

The contest includes 2 nominations:

1. Amazing museums of Russia. The promotion of museum through Internet.

As part of this nomination you can obtain financial and expert support to create instruments to improve its museum, as well as the annual advertising in the Web.

2. The museum guide in Russia “The country-museum”. Musefication of a landscape.

In this category will be supported projects involving the installation of information modules at the points of the landscape with the local historical or mythological significance, but lost the outward signs of historicism. This nomination is primarily aimed at local history, the memorial, the Archaeological Museum, museum-reserves and the museum-estate.
