19 January 2015

January 19, 2015 at the Museum "Fried land Gate" (Kaliningrad) is opened the exhibition "With faith in the heart" dedicated to the first settlers who came from different parts of the Soviet Union on the territory of the former East Prussia. The exhibition presents works by the artist Romanas Borisovas and a collection of religious objects (Kolomenskoye, icons).

Romanas Borisovas gathered his own archive, the importance of not conceding to the museum. In the exhibited paintings the artist has depicted "mute witnesses of the past" - castles, manor houses, churches, estates. Postwar ruins - that's what the first settlers saw - fragments of once beautiful city.

The first settlers went to this earth with faith in heart. And this faith kept them heirlooms. The exhibition features icons, in the technique of copper art casting. The exhibition introduces the viewer to religious objects, created by Russian craftsmen in the XVI - XIX centuries. To the copper casting, the national heritage of Russian culture that exists in Russia for a thousand years had always a special relationship.
