Society and culture: The exhibition of works of 1920-30s “Portrait of a Country” in Kursk

In the exhibition hall of the Kursk Picture Gallery is opened the exhibition "Portrait of a Country". From the collections of the gallery were selected 45 works created in the 20-30s of the last century. Several works of the 1940s are also included.

This period is very attractive with unusual intensity of the artistic life. This is time of experiments and the creation of numerous creative groups and the time of their dissolution, the organization of a single union of artists.

Artists are represented by specific works. Portrait of a big country is embodied in different ways in different genres.

"Geography" of species Motherland - Russia, Belarus, the Caucasus, the Crimea and Central Asia is wide. The amplitude of portrait genre - from images to a specific person portrait-type is impressive. Painting and still life and also reflect the particular manner of the authors and added important finishing touches to the portrait of the era.

At the same time the exposition of painting of A. A. Deineka included works by 1920-60s continues its work.
