Society and reading: The theme of February museum readings of the memory of Semen Geychenko will be “Russian literature and literary museum-reserves”

The A. S. Pushkin State Museum-Reserve “Mikhailovskoye” announced the theme of the XVIII February Museum Readings in the memory of S. S. Geychenko – “Russian literature and literary museum-reserves”.

According to press attaché of the museum Lydia Tokareva, this theme was chosen as the coming 2015 will be the Year of literature in Russia, so it is important to identify the role and importance of literary museum-reserves as custodians of estate culture, materials and spiritual orientation of Russian life, Russian history and literature.

Invited to participate in a conference of scientists of museums and research institutions, teachers, literary critics, art historians and other specialists, all indifferent to the problems of Russian culture, the organizers of readings offer to discuss wide range of issues. These are “Literary museum-reserves: Past and Present”, “Literary Heritage of Russian manor”, “Russian literature and historical and cultural landscape conservation areas”, “Features of formation of museum collections of literary museums and open-air museums” and so on.

The conference will be held from February 12-15, 2015.
