History and culture: International conference “The Great Patriotic War and the literary process of the second half of the XX century” to be held in Moscow
The A. M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Academy of Sciences (Moscow) on 14-15 April 2015 holds the International scientific and practical conference "The Great Patriotic War and the literary process of the second half of the XX century", devoted to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The theme of the conference: "People's feat and folk tragedy: literature about the Great Patriotic War".
The conference is invited to discuss the issues: on the principles of historicism in understanding the experience of war and literature about it: disputes and indisputable; traditions of the military-patriotic literature of the past as a "fund of continuity" to create works about the war; man-protagonist military literature, the ways and means of artistic representation of man in war; display of the different periods of the war, and pathos of critical analysis as essential aspects of the author's concept; character and types of conflict; genre and stylistic diversity of literature on the war (war poetry, "lieutenants' prose", etc.); language literature of the Great Patriotic War; the ratio of the document and fiction as an art problem; Russian literature abroad and the fate of Russian writers, the relevance of further study and interpretation of the artistic heritage of Russian writers abroad about the Great Patriotic War; military-patriotic literature in school and university programs; experience of fiction about the war of 1941-1945 and modern literature of a military perspective, some other issues.
In addition to the plenary sessions is scheduled to hold a round table, which will be attended by writers, literary critic and professors of literature.
