
The Presidential Library: New acquisitions
The Presidential Library collections have been enriched with educational and cultural video materials of its own production.
Lectures as part of the project "Video materials "Knowledge of the Russian Federation"," dedicated to the heraldry of our country, and the reports of the First World War, made at scientific and educational conference "State, Society and Culture at the crossroads of epochs" are presented.

Candidate of Historical Sciences, executive secretary of the Heraldic Council at the president of the Russian Federation Gleb Vadimovich Kalashnikov devoted several video lectures to the birth of heraldry, its history and distribution.
In the lecture Heraldry in the modern world, the author notes that the heraldry - is, on the one hand, the practice of creating and using distinctive signs, on the other hand - all the signs of used by a single owner. In this context, heraldry matters ancillary (or special) historical discipline that studies the coats of arms in the historical past. The subject of heraldry is not only a coat of arms, and any distinctive sign (coats of arms, emblems, logos, flags, banners, insignia, that is, service marks and awards, uniforms costumes, etc.).
The premium system of our country from the time of Peter the Great to the present day dedicates video lecture State Awards of Russia. Candidate of Historical Sciences, linguistic lead programmer of the Department of software and technological support of the Presidential Library Lubov Vladimirovna Zavyalova in her report, "The Collection of the Presidential Library, dedicated to the First World War" presented a collection that included copies of library books, archival documents, images of museum objects, many of which at present were not available to the general public.
Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the St. Petersburg State University, Institute of Philosophy Igor Yurievich Schauba in his report "Writers in the First World War" elaborated on the poetry of the First World War, highlighting two groups of intellectuals of the time - adhering patriotic position and Germanophiles, opponents of the war.
Ph.D., professor of the St. Petersburg State University, Institute of Philosophy Igor Ivanovich Yevlampiev in his report "Patriotic sentiments in Russian society during the First World War" gave details of understanding the theme of patriotism and nationalism during the war by well-known Russian philosophers, historians, political figures of the time.
Doctor of historical sciences, professor of the Institute of History of the St. Petersburg State University Mikhail Feodorovich Florinsky in video lecture "The Russian government during the First World War" studied the effect of global armed conflict in the history of the Russian Empire, ultimately leading to social upheavals in 1917.
