Russian museums: The updated exposition of the Gallery of Art of Europe and America is presented in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow

16 February 2015

February 16, 2015 in the Gallery of Arts of Europe and America of the XIX-XX centuries (The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow) is held the media show of the updated exposition.

The paintings of the gallery collections are housed in the museum halls on a new principle: works of each artist are exhibited in a separate space. Such a technique was used by Sergei Shchukin and Ivan Morozov - collectors, whose collections formed the galley collection.

The color scheme of halls also updated: the walls of all the floors are now painted in one color, which allows evaluating the coloristic variety of paintings. The works are accompanied with specially manufactured labels with extended information: they are added with a line indicating the collection, from which the works came.

The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts from 2014 is held the large-scale reconstruction, in the result of which will be created a museum quarter. After the reconstruction the collection of Gallery of Arts of Europe and America of the XIX-X centuries will be housed in buildings of the Golitsyn estate on Volkhonka.
