Memory of the world: Monument to the “Big Three” to be open in Yalta to the anniversary of the Crimean conference

The monument to leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition countries by Zurab Tsereteli will be open on February 5, 2015 in the Livadia Palace in Crimea as part of the International Scientific Conference “Yalta 2015: the past, the present, the future”, which will be held on February 4-5, 2015 in Yalta.

The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Yalta (Crimean) conference of the Allied Powers ( the “Big Three”), which was attended by the Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars Joseph Stalin, the US President Franklin Roosevelt and the Prime-Minister of Great Britain Winston Churchill. The historic meeting included the discussion of the postwar world.

Participants and guests of the International Scientific Conference “Yalta 1945: the past, the present, the future” will analyze the basics of political and diplomatic solutions and agreements, which allow creating architecture of the postwar world order.

In addition, they will discuss the perspectives of the secure multi-polar world, which is based on principles of mutual respect and cooperation, created by leaders of three powers in Yalta in 1945.

The conference welcomes more than 150 Russian and foreign representatives of scientific community, political scientists, experts and media representatives. The opening of the monument will be attended by leaders of diplomatic missions of Great Britain and the USA in Russia.
