To the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory: The exhibition “They Fought for the Motherland” in Ulyanovsk
The Ulyanovsk Regional Art Museum hosts the exhibition "They Fought for the Motherland". The exhibition, project dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, is implemented jointly with the M. B. Grekov War Artists Studio at the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and is part of a special project of the state museums of the Ulyanovsk region, "Russian Museums of the Great Patriotic War".
For the first time the attention of the Ulyanovsk viewer is paid to paintings by artists - "grekovtsy". The M. B. Grekov Studio - unique creative association created in 1934 on the initiative of the prominent painter Mitrofan Borisovich Grekov. The main task of the Studio at all stages - a reconstruction of remarkable artistic images of pages of glorious history of Russian arms and valor of Russian soldiers.
The exhibition includes works by artists of three generations - the older, the middle and the younger artists who came into the studio at the beginning of a new, XXI century. The Old Masters Studios People's Artist of the RSFSR V. I. Pereyaslavets - a veteran of the great Patriotic War. In the Grekov Studio he works since 1950. Creative biography of V. I. Pereyaslavets – trips to the military units and the navy, at the frontier, travel around the world. All these events, as in a mirror, are reflected in his paintings, which are dominated by the portrait gallery.
The appeal to pages of the past, the most important stages of life of the Motherland, to the history of the Armed Forces is the main theme of paintings of military artists, which are on display.
