World museums: The State Russian Museum branch is opened in Spain
March 25, 2015 in Malaga (Spain) in the exhibition center “Tabakalera” is opened the first in Europe foreign branch of the State Russian Museum.
Annually the branch will host three exhibitions – one is “permanent” and two temporary. The first permanent exhibition entitled “The Russian Art of the XV – XX century” will include about 100 works: from icons of the XV century until the socialist realism. Here will be presented works by Alexei Venetsianov, Karl Briullov, Alexander Ivanov, Vasily Tropinin, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, Boris Kustodiev, Ilya Repin, Natalia Goncharova, Olga Rozanova, Alexandra Exter, Vasily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, and many others.
The first temporary exhibition – “The Russian art of the era of Diaghilev (XIX-XX centuries) – will be open until September and will present 69 works of such artists as Leon Bakst, Mikhail Vrubel, Alexander Golovin, Natalia Goncharova, Isaac Levitan and MikhailLarionov. The second temporary exhibition is dedicated to the art of the famous avant-garde artist Pavel Filonov.
The activity of the branch of the museum will not be limited with the exhibition program. Here will be presented online lectures, seminars, art musical and poetic evenings and other cultural events.
