Information technology and history: New film for the multimedia panorama “Great Trading and Princley Court” presented in Veliky Novgorod

March 20, 2015 in St. Nicholas Cathedral (Yaroslav's Court, Veliky Novgorod) took place the presentation of the film "The Cathedral of St. Nicholas", which is a continuation of multimedia content of the panorama "Great Trading and Princely Court". 

Work on the introduction of modern digital technologies in exposition and exhibition and educational activities are increasingly used by the Novgorod Museum-Reserve, making it more attractive to tourists. In the past year, especially for the new hardware and software the exhibition complex was built in a panoramic overview screen 360˚ and a diameter of 6 m. Opening of the first multimedia panorama "Great Trading and Princely Court" in St. Nicholas Cathedral was held in September 2014. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture the Russian Federation.

A new story multimedia panorama tells about architecture and painting of St. Nicholas Cathedral, the second oldest after the Sophia Novgorod temple. In the film, with multimedia is recreated iconostasis of the cathedral. Viewers can see more than 40 icons from the collection of the Novgorod Museum Reserve, which were part of the five-tiered Nikolsky iconostasis and were up in it until to 80s of the last century.
