17 March 2015

The Kemerovo Regional Museum hosts the presentation of the new federal exhibition project “Three wars – three worlds”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary in the Great Patriotic War. The project is implemented in partnership with the State Borodino Military-Historical Museum-Reserve with the participation of re-enactors and collectors. The project reflects the history of three largest wars, which shook not only Europe in early XIX century, but twice the world in the XX century: the Great Patriotic War of 1812, “Imperialist” First World War 1914-1918 and the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.  The main purpose of the project is to show in chronological order what changes have occurred during these three wars: the scale of destruction, development of weapons, uniform and equipment in the XIX-XX century.

The section “The Great Patriotic War 1812” visitors saw unique exhibits of the first quarter of the XIX century, passed by the State Borodino Military History Museum. These are objects found during archaeological excavations at Borodino - fragments of grenades, kernel grapeshot and musket bullets. The greatest interest is the clothing and equipment of soldiers in 1812 - an ordinary uniform of Army infantry, hussar dolman, Cuirassier tunic, hats (Cuirassier helmet, quiver, hat). Cavalry has special significance standard in 1812 - a symbol of military honor.

The section “The First World War of 1914-1918” represents uniforms and weapons of officers and soldiers of the Russian army: ordinary clothing of the 12th Regiment of Dragoons of the Starodubovsky Russian Army 1914-1917, saber lower ranks of 1881, Mosin rifle sample 1897, casings from bullets, revolver “Smith & Wesson”, photographs of war participants.

The section “The Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” features hotographs and documents of the commander of 32 Infantry Division, a member of the defense of Moscow, kuzbass V. I. Polosuhin; war posters of the artist P. Sokolov-Skal; officer and soldier equipment; form of Soviet soldiers, stitched in different years of the war; models live ammunition; antitank ammunition cartridges.

The space at the exhibition is organized on a new principle: visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of war and get major military battles. This effect is achieved with the demonstration of video footage of military operations on the 3D-display.
